I read an article that I enjoyed so much I wanted to repost it here and encourage you to subscribe to Jon Acuff’s blog if you are interested in receiving encouragement to design a life worth living. According to Jon Acuff there are three things you need to give yourself confidence and have the best shot at accomplishing your goals in the new year.

  1. Clarity – A focused sense of what you’re trying to accomplish.
  2. Consistency – The grind of stacking small wins on top of small wins, day after day.
  3. Community – Leaning on friends when you don’t feel like hustling.

Those three “c words” will help you stay on track and accomplish your dreams, plans, and goals 2016. However there is another “c word” that is a sure-fire way to derail you. This one is straight poison and unfortunately social media has a tendency to pour gasoline on the fire.

It’s comparison.

As the one year ends we reflect and as the new year begins we dream and plan. Every year we need to remind ourselves that comparison leads to arrogance or shame, but never happiness.
